Alright. First, let's talk about MGM. I know, I know, it's "Disney Studios" now. Was it a choice? Or could the MGM name no longer apply? If it's the latter, I'm still mad. And we need to talk more about this later.
Second: WTF DID YOU DO TO SPACESHIP EARTH?!?!?!?!?!?!?! This is NOT what I meant by a new animatronics-based ride. I meant get out a shovel, hammer, nails and start building another ride where there isn't one already. And don't give me any of this "Siemens" shit. I'm pretty sure they've been sponsoring this ride for a few years now, and we're just now changing it?
And okay, I can deal with "improvements" like better lighting, a general refurb, and, with hesitation, changing the narrator to Judi Dench. But, let it be known that if I were a "Dame-ified" star of screen and stage, I'd probably refuse because I prefer what I have always known.
I'm even a little alright with getting rid of the "future" animatronic section of the ride.
But a NEW SOUNDTRACK?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The descent was the best part of that whole ride. I know simple fiber optics are a little in the past, but really, it was the simplicity of that coupled with the music. It'll give you goosebumps. It's exactly what we, as kids, tried to duplicate when we tried to make our "own" Disney World.
Spaceship Earth should meet its doom with this.

I, willing to embrace my new hippie spirit, will go and protest with you. We will chain ourselves in Epcot and refuse to leave unless they change it back. I will email Lisa Harrow and she will email Judi Dench and we'll get it all worked out.
