Disney, We Need to Have a Talk

Alright. First, let's talk about MGM. I know, I know, it's "Disney Studios" now. Was it a choice? Or could the MGM name no longer apply? If it's the latter, I'm still mad. And we need to talk more about this later.
Second: WTF DID YOU DO TO SPACESHIP EARTH?!?!?!?!?!?!?! This is NOT what I meant by a new animatronics-based ride. I meant get out a shovel, hammer, nails and start building another ride where there isn't one already. And don't give me any of this "Siemens" shit. I'm pretty sure they've been sponsoring this ride for a few years now, and we're just now changing it?
And okay, I can deal with "improvements" like better lighting, a general refurb, and, with hesitation, changing the narrator to Judi Dench. But, let it be known that if I were a "Dame-ified" star of screen and stage, I'd probably refuse because I prefer what I have always known.
I'm even a little alright with getting rid of the "future" animatronic section of the ride.

But a NEW SOUNDTRACK?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The descent was the best part of that whole ride. I know simple fiber optics are a little in the past, but really, it was the simplicity of that coupled with the music. It'll give you goosebumps. It's exactly what we, as kids, tried to duplicate when we tried to make our "own" Disney World.

Spaceship Earth should meet its doom with this.

Just call me Mario

First of all, a very exciting thing happened to my very good friend over break. She's engaged. How exciting! I'm truly excited for her.
I was a bit confused, though, when another friend of mine said she thought it was either going to be this friend or myself who'll get married first. Seems I've already been written off! The fact that she thought that bothers me, although I can't explain why because I've also been feeling somewhat like this, especially after when I asked my boyfriend to at least be my date to the wedding, his response was "it's a long way off."

PS- my bottle of Method all purpose surface cleaner, which is pink grapefruit scented, is labeled as "pamplemousse rose" in whatever language the bottle is also in. Upon a google search, I found out they weren't exaggerating or calling it something completely different. From now on, whenever I'm referring to grapefruit, don't be surprised when you hear an annoyingly American sounding "Pam-pull Mouse Rose" come out of my mouth.

So I found this cat...

More like my car found this cat, and I only found it just in time to swerve and save its life.
But if that wasn't enough, I had to pull over and get out of the car because it was bitterly cold, and it was 11 pm. No one was yelling this cat's name, and, as far as I could tell, the poor thing was lost.
Now, I'm not really a cat person. Every third cat I meet makes me sneeze, my throat itch, and my eyes water. ...But only every third. If you own one, you rarely see it or, as with this one, you see it too much. They climb all over everything, claw at things, chew on furniture, etc. Not really my idea of a good time.
But I am still a humanitarian, oh yes. Even to a cat.
I get this cat to follow me home, and my dad helps me put it in the garage. We get a blanket and water and milk and week-old chicken salad (which the cat seemed to realize was a week old). But no, the thing meowed endlessly. Plus, it was still really cold in the garage. I felt bad. I cleaned my room the best i could, hid all the Christmas candy, brought the blanket upstairs, put a heating pad under it, filled a container we had with cat litter we have just in case a car gets stuck in the snow, and brought up a mat for the water and milk.
I posted on Craig's list just knowing, deep in my heart, that some little five year old girl must be having terrible nightmares (it's now 1 am) because her precious cat went missing earlier in the day. The fact that this cat would NOT leave me alone all night, slept in my bed, and purred the loudest purr I have ever heard, and just generally drove me insane by playing with my cellphone and charger, rubber bands, and bobby pins, didn't really bother me, because after all, this little girl in my mind would be so happy to have her cat return.
But my humanitarian instincts proved to be the downfall of my belief in humanity. This morning my sister tells me her friend, who lives near where I found this cat, has a neighbor who always let their cats out. This morning I walk with the cat, and it still seems lost and confused, casually strolling up random driveways, but never really making a full commitment. Then I continue to my sister's friend's house. Immediately, the cat darts for her neighbor's house. Just as my sister thought. And now I see, their garage door is open just a crack at the bottom. Just enough room for a cat to get in and out.
So here I am, thinking I'll be some little girl's hero, giving her cat a warm place to stay over night, but really it's not the case. The creepy people down the street who, on their basketball hoop, put out a six-feet-tall, illuminated cucifix every year for the holidays just can't seem to give their very own cat a warm place in freezing temperatures.
Jerks.

P.S.

Two in one day... I know.

But, here are my custom maps for Walt Disney World. All four parks.
Those circled are, at worst, moderately worth-while attractions. Probably considered, at least, to be classic attractions.
Red indicates Fast Pass attractions, and those which are actually circled with red are the ones I would try to get Fast Passes for first. And by first I mean, I actually stay at Disney resorts so I can get to these parks on early days and physically run to these Fast Pass booths first. The exception being possibly Splash Mountain or any other ride which may have quickly moving ques or low attendance early in the day.
Yellow stars indicate bathrooms, and neon green circles are where I, a vegetarian, want to eat (as opposed to just bringing a simple, bagged lunch).
As for the World Showcase, every country is
circled because they are all fun to visit and shop in. If a country has a movie (no ride), it's never worth it because it was probably filmed in the 70s or 80s.
Also, these maps are slightly out of date. Mexico has had a re-vamp. The ride is no longer the slow-paced, boring Tiempo, but shows of Mexico's culture via the Three Cabelleros. Some of it's the same, but I've read it's been lightened up. Hopefully it's still never crowded because it was always my secret way of resting your feet!

Dear Imagineers*,

I was watching a video of the newest additions to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Now, I'll have you know I am a loyal, devout believer in the magic of Animatronics. They are amazing, they are breath-taking, so realistic, and in this video I see... they just keep getting better! So this is where I must ask,

Why haven't we seen any new Animatronic-based rides?

A lovely, relaxing, spectacular boat ride where I can truly admire your genius! Not a thrill ride, please. While the Yeti was truly amazing in Expedition Everest, I could only admire it for about 2 seconds before I ducked and closed my eyes in fright! (Which was, of course, the desired effect!)
I could see that maybe you are all worried about then needing to update the classic rides, though, if you were to put out a new, Animatronic-based leisure ride. Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, though, are from such a different time, the slow-moving ghosts are expected, almost! And the Pirates are like a dream. Except when Johnny Depp himself pops out of a... oh wait, no, that's an Animatronic, too!
Please, my good men and women, I will brainstorm for the most exciting fantasy comparable to the Haunted Mansion and our lovable Pirates of the Caribbean. Only if you will pretty please make such an incredible ride! No, no, that's not right. What I mean to say is only if you make such incredible figures!
Love,
Emily

Really folks, I have yet to see the new Pirates in real life, but to see Depp standing next to Animatronic Captain Sparrow is amazing, and I'll admit, a bit confusing! See for yourselves if you can.

*For those of you who don't know, Imagineers are the engineers at Disney theme parks who design and create the rides your ride.
